Today the group visited the York Neuro-Imaging Centre (YNIC) again for a refresher on MRI scanners and the OSIRIX software. Sam presented an accelerated presentation on both MRI and MEG machines at the centre and then we managed to sneak a look at the MRI machine again between scans.
There seemed to be a lot of questions from the group today, some even highlighting the ethical concerns of leaving an MRI scanner on permentantly!
We then had some time to play around with Sam’s MRI data set using the OSIRIX software in the Apple Mac suite. The software is quite complex, but the group managed to produce some interesting, if occasionally quite disturbing images.
